Spring Production 2012
Tickets are now available for our next production in May – ‘Over my Dead Body’ – a comedy by Derek Benfield:

Following the death of his wife Helen, Gerald hopes to spend the rest of his days comfortably alone with his memories; doing his best to avoid the cooking of his daughter Shirley, and patiently endure the awkwardness of his son-in-law Mark. However, unbeknownst to him, Helen had other ideas…
As women start turning up unexpectedly from past and present, it soon becomes clear that his late wife had gone to great lengths to ensure he would not be alone in his retiring years. With the situation spiralling out of control, and his independance under grave threat, he, Shirley and Mark will have to come up with a plan and quick before things get out of hand!
The Beeston Players’ latest play – in association with Samuel French Limited – is a delightfully amusing comedy by Derek Benfield. He also wrote Bedside Manners; Wild Goose Chase and Look Who’s Talking.
Performing at Roundhill School, Beeston at 7.30pm between Wednesday 16th May – Saturday 19th May.
November 2011: Ladies Day

Performed 7.30pm between Wednesday 16th – Saturday 19th November.
Work, love and life are one hard slog for the fish-filleting foursome Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda. Their luck changes when Linda finds tickets to Ladies’ Day at Royal Ascot in York.
Out go the hairnets, overalls and wellies as the four ditch work, do themselves up to the nines and head off to the races for a drink, a flirt and a flutter. As the day unfolds, the champagne flows, secrets spill out and their horses keep winning. If their luck holds, they could hit the jackpot – and more besides…
See photos from the performance.

Autumn Newsletter
With the summer coming to an end, and Autumn fast approaching, it’s time for the 3rd Edition of our Newsletter.
In Brief:
The year began uncertainly, as our initial plans of performing ‘Murder in the Vicarage’ were dealt a blow when the Agatha Christie Society decided we could not perform it. However, we went on instead to peform ‘The Hollow’ for our spring production which went down very well. Our November production of ‘Ladies Day’ is on track – the roles have been cast and rehearsals have begun (tickets will be available online closer to the date).
In other news, our new committee was elected at our AGM in July, headed up by our new Chairman Ian Greatorex. We’ve also had the privilage of welcoming various new people to the group, but also say fond farewells to some long standing members.
The summer brought various social events, along with our new website. We’d like to say a very big thank you to Peter and David Aldred for their work maintaining the previous site, and their help in getting us across to the new.
